What is recorded

Google Analytics

Sigdal-aktiv.no uses Google Analytics – a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. The tool provides us with statistical reports that we use to analyze and improve the usability of our website.

To measure the use of the site, Google Analytics collects information through cookies. These are text files that are stored in the browser’s memory by those who visit the site. These give us information about, for example, the type of browser you use, how you found our website and what sub-pages you visited on sigdal-aktiv.no

Google Analytics also collects the IP addresses of site users. An IP address is a unique identifier that is assigned to each device connected to the Internet. Google Analytics must collect this information in order to distinguish users from each other. After the collection, the IP addresses are anonymized so that site visitors cannot be traced back to a specific hardware or individual.

Facebook Pixel

To show you relevant ads, Facebook offers targeting to users of a website. This is possible because the site has installed a so-called “Facebook pixel” – which collects data from the sites visitors. Learn more about Facebook Pixel here.

Sigdal-aktiv.no has installed this pixel. We use the data to read statistics and deliver customized ads. You can turn cookies off in your browser at any time (as explained above), and you can also make sure that Facebook does not show you ads based on your online habits by opting out here.

Embedded content from other sites

An extension is used to embed content from the third-party provider; Instagram. Sites like this can collect information about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking systems, and monitor what you do via this embedded content. This also includes tracking your actions through the embedded content if you have an account and are logged into the site.
